01 — Purpose
CL-FLD-001 records site-specific observations from residential lighting surveys across Malmö. These notes inform parameter choices in LUX-01 through LUX-05 and are updated as building stock and renovation patterns evolve.

03 — Västra Hamnen Notes
Waterfront units in Dockan, Flagship, and nearby blocks receive significant reflected light from the Öresund, particularly March through September. South-facing living rooms can exceed 2 000 lx at midday without shading. Artificial ambient layers should be specified at lower lumen density (600–900 lm per 20 m²) with strong dimming capability.
Balcony glazing is often floor-to-ceiling. Interior/exterior transition at balcony doors requires attention in LUX-03 — avoid placing bright downlights directly in the sightline from the balcony entry. Many units include exterior downlights on balcony soffits; coordinate CCT with interior (2700–3000 K match).
BRF styrordning in several Västra Hamnen associations restricts visible wiring modifications in common areas. Entry PIR sensors must be installed within the apartment door threshold, not in shared corridor ceiling.
04 — Ribersborg Notes
Ribersborg flats along Kavallerigatan, Mariedalsvägen, and Lönngatan retain original ceiling roses and coved cornices. Recessed downlights are often rejected by homeowners and BRF aesthetic guidelines. Surface-mounted discs, track heads on ceiling roses, and cove uplighting are standard approaches.
Bathroom sizes are typically 3.5–5 m² with original tile and no ventilation duct space for large recessed housings. Surface IP44 fixtures and mirror sidelights per LUX-02 are preferred. Ceiling height in bathrooms may drop to 2.40 m after floor build-up — verify at survey.
Kitchen renovations frequently expose original brick behind removed cabinetry. Under-cabinet LED strips should use warm white (2700 K) to complement brick tones rather than 4000 K cool white common in commercial kitchen specs.
